NTTF
In 1959, Dr. Heinrich Hellstern, Director of Swiss NGO HEKS, initiated the establishment of a Technical Training institute in Nettur, Tellicherry, Kerala. This led to the formation of the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) in 1963. Over the past 65 years, NTTF has grown into a leading institution, receiving technical support and knowledge transfer from Swiss industry and training institutions. NTTF remains committed to providing high-quality education and contributing to the development of skilled individuals and society.

Milestones
1959
- CSI Technical Training Institute started in Nettur, Tellicherry (Kerala) by Dr. Heinrich Hellstern (Swiss NGO HEKS).
1963
- The institute was formally registered as NTTF.
1964
- Dharwad Centre (Karnataka) inaugurated by Indira Gandhi.
- Vellore Centre (Tamil Nadu) started along with NTTF Tool Room
1978
- Peenya Training Centre & started along with NTTF Tool Room (Bengaluru) established; HQ moved here.
1983
- School of Postgraduate Studies (SPG) started in Peenya, Bengaluru.
- Tuticorin (SPIC partnership) started.
1984
- Gannavaram Centre (Andhra Pradesh) started.
- First Non-Tool & Die program offere with start of Electronic City Centre (Bengaluru)
1997
- GKDITR Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) started.
1998
- Received the President’s Award for contributions to training people with disabilities.
2000
- SIT Tumakuru (Karnataka) started
2001
- OEN Kochi (Kerala) center started.
- SPIC Tuticorin centers started.
2003
- R D Tata Technical Education Centre (Jamshedpur) started with Tata Steel.
2005
- J.N. Tata Technical Education Centre (Gopalpur, Odisha) started.
2006
- Became a training partner for Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
2008
- JSW Bellary (Karnataka) center started.
- ATTC Bardang (Sikkim) center started with MHRD, Government of India.
2009
- Ashok Leyland Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) center started.
2010
- Technocraft Murbad (Maharashtra) center started.
- HBL Hyderabad started
2012
- NTTF Centre in Malappuram (Kerala) via Keltron Started.
- NTTF Centre in Kuttippuram (Kerala) via Keltron Started.
2013
- Certified as a NEEM Agent.
2014
- Kumbakonam Centre (Tamil Nadu) started
- Burma Mines (Jamshedpur) with Tata Steel started.
2017
- Belagavi Centre (Karnataka) started.
2021
- Trichy Centre (Tamil Nadu) started.
2023
- Pune (PNTC) Centre started
- Chennai (SKPNTC) Centre started
- Gadag (G-NTTF) started
- NTTF Recognised as NCVET Awarding Body-Dual
2024
- Designated as a UNEVOC Centre, UNESCO’s designated centre for technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
2025

Support Department
The NTTF has grown substantially with a strong footprint across India, having around 60 training centers including Corporate Partner centers. The NTTF Support Departments play a key role in managing the large student strength from the core training centers across all the NTTF centers. We also manage various custom-built training programs at our partner clients’ centers.
The support departments are located in Bangalore and are vital for the success of the organisation. Each of these departments is led by a head along with other team members who coordinate with the various training centers across India on a day-to-day basis.
